ABSTRACT

A study has been carried out on the effects of an electric field on plant growth to determine if such a field can enhance the growth rate. We applied an electrostatic field to white radish sprouts and cultivated them, comparing the results to similar sprouts cultivated in the absence of any applied field. The growth rates were determined based on the length of the seedlings. It was confirmed that the electric field did in fact promote somewhat faster growth, suggesting the possibility of control of the growth rate by a suitable electrostatic field.
