Description
This publication contains the contributed keynote and technical papers presented at the Pacific Structural Steel Conference (PSSC 2013), held in Singapore from 8 to 11 October 2013. A total of 207 papers detailing the latest development, innovation and research findings from 24 countries were accepted for presentation including 12 keynote papers by renowned international experts in their respective fields.
New construction technologies and design concepts to achieve impressive architectural marvels and application of new products such as high strength, high performance, weather resistant and fire resistant steel were among the highlights of the contributed papers. Advancement in analysis method including effects of fire, buckling, fatigue, wind, cyclic, vibration, dynamic and seismic loadings was also the main focus of the conference aiming to improve productivity and application of steel structures. Up to date rules and recommendations derived from continuous study and research efforts in recently published specifications/codes or those about to be included in their upcoming versions were also disseminated and discussed in the conference.
