ABSTRACT
Two case studies involving the raising of an existing 30-year old dam using cement grout columns and reinforcing a 30 m high slope in a hilly terrain are presented in this paper. Design principles and construction methodologies are described to provide a general understanding on the governing parameters and requirements of each structure.
Keywords: Dam; seepage; slope; stability; failure; geogrid; sub-soil.
