ABSTRACT

This paper describes the development of the gravel cement compaction pile method (GCCP method) and the results of its test application. The GCCP method, which can produce improved columns that are high in strength, was developed as a cost effective ground improvement technique. This technique uses the construction machinery for the sand compaction pile method to produce improved columns through the compaction of a mixture of gravel (crushed-stone) and cement slurry.

Keywords: Gravel cement compaction pile; test construction; strength.
