IOC Invited | Enhancement of Dissolution Rate of Water Insoluble API by Wet Grinding |
Presenter | Prof. Satoru Watano, Osaka Prefecture University, Japan |
Prof. Satoru Watano specialized in Chemical Engineering, receiving his Bachelor, Master and Ph.D. degrees from Osaka Prefecture University, Japan. After obtaining his Ph.D., he worked at New Jersey Institute of Technology, U.S.A. as a visiting professor. Currently, he is the dean of Materials Science and Engineering Division (Graduate School of Engineering) and also leading an active particle technology research group in Osaka Prefecture University, Japan. He is now on the board of directors of The Society of Powder Technology Japan and a council member of Japan Society of Pharmaceutical Machinery and Engineering. He is serving as organizing committee members of many domestic and international associations and conferences including Asian Particle Technology (IOC of APT 2012). He also leads important several national and industrial projects.
His research area covers:
- Measurement, control, optimization and scale-up of powder handling processes such as mixing, granulation, kneading, coating, grinding and tabletting
- Particle design and modification of surface properties
- Synthesis and handling of nano-particles
- Numerical modeling and simulation (DEM, CFD, FEM, MD) of particulate systems
- Development of innovative powder handling processes.
