On Quasi-Weak and Weak Formulations of Displacement-Based and Green-Function-Based Stochastic Finite Element Methods

ABSTRACT

In this paper variational formulations of both displacement-based and Green-function-based stochastic finite element methods (SFEM) are discussed in an integrated way. Two variational forms are distinguished from each other, whereas the quasi-weak form is shown corresponding to Monte Carlo, perturbation, and the weighted integral SFEM, while the weak form results in spectral SFEM and GFB-SFEM.
