ABSTRACT

As the volume of information available on the internet and corporate intranets continues to increase, there is a growing need for tools helping people better find, filter and manage these resources. Document classification, the assignment of documents to one or more predefined categories based on their content, is an important component in many information management tasks. This text categorization can be done either based on Text or Image. Both text – based and image – based text categorizations have a higher time complexity. The efficiency of text categorization methods can be increased by considering the environmental texts for categorization of text. So a multilevel text categorization system based on environmental text with improved accuracy and efficiency has been developed. The use of domain ontologies enables the system to provide semantically rich classification results.

Keywords: Text mining, Document classification(Text categorisation), Ontology, Environmental text.
