ABSTRACT

Over a few decades a number of research papers have been published in reversible watermarking schemes. But there is no suitable approach specified for any particular field. Here we have handpicked some of the latest suitable methodology to make it work in more efficient manner. The main algorithms discussed here are wavelet transformation and Reversible Authentication Water marking (RAW). These deal with both the tailored as well as the evaluation approaches. Reversible watermarking concentrates in providing lossless data hiding, image security, copyright protection etc. The rationale behind this survey is to provide an overview, as complete as possible, and a classification of reversible water marking algorithms while trying to focus on their main issues in a manner to provide to the readers the basic information to understand if a certain techniques matches with what they were looking for. This survey categorizes fragile images in terms of metrics like high capacity, low distortion, high PSNR, high visual clarity along with the various approaches suitable for this field and evaluates them in a better manner to suite its behavior and ideal nature.

Keywords: Reversible watermarking, Fragile, Image authentication, Peak signal –to-noise ratio.
