ABSTRACT
The paper will cover the design principles and layout configuration of elevated transit stations in Singapore. The paper will also summarises the various roof forms of the various phases of construction giving the identity to the stations. Lastly, a case study on the recent built Boon Lay Extension which was officially opened in March 2009. Boon Lay Extension consists of 2 elevated MRT stations, Pioneer and Joo Koon Station. It is an extending from the existing Boon Lay station of the East West Line. The paper will cover the architectural design features and how its responses to the local conditions by incorporating natural ventila-tion and day lighting into the station.
