ABSTRACT

Increasing urbanization and industrialization in Asia leads to serious congestions in mega cities and pollution issues. Transportation being the backbone of any cities is instrumental to rectify and improve this dire situation. Metro systems are one of the most efficient and energy-saving transport solutions, highly recommended to ease congestions within major cities. Metro trains have evolved into driverless Metro Systems. Singapore is a prime example of having one of the longest driverless Metro Systems in the world and evolution of this technology will be discussed in the paper.

Keywords: Metro systems, Energy-saving, Driverless metro systems.
