ABSTRACT

This paper provides a brief synopsis of the presentation for the WUTC conference in Singapore.

The paper aims to consider and study the reasons why some Urban Transit customers decide to remain with their existing technology rather than move with the market trend towards CBTC and driverless systems. The various aspects of technology, social effects, culture and convention are considered.

The paper aims to address the following subjects:
