ABSTRACT

The likelihood of terrorist event pre-detection is limited and the consequences of such an event occurring can be catastrophic. The combination therefore adds significantly to the attraction of mass transit rail systems as a terrorist target, with potential mass casualties being newsworthy on a global scale.
