ABSTRACT
This paper highlights the approach and process in developing the Operating Modes and Principles Document (OMPD) for the Singapore Downtown Line (DTL) project. The production of the OMPD is a joint effort by the respective key system contractors and Electrical & Mechanical Services (E&M) designers and is facilitated by the Land Transport Authority (LTA).
The OMPD defines operating principles for all normal, degraded and emergency modes of operation for DTL. The document provides an integrated overview of the operation and establishes a platform to align the operation to the overall integrated system design. It also provides an overall platform to validate the various integrated functional performances under normal, degraded and emergency modes of operation.
The paper also covers the main challenges encountered during the development of the document.
