ABSTRACT
Accurate demoulding force prediction prior to tool fabrication helps designers optimize replication tools to minimise the demoulding force and resultant stress on replicated parts. This paper investigates the application of existing friction models to predict the demoulding force of elastomeric components. Whilst the model has not yet been validated a strategy for validation of the model is presented together with a discussion of its limitations.
