ABSTRACT
A screen printing paste was adapted for flexography printing in order to reach viscosities as low as 40 mPa.s. Two different formulae containing 20% and 30% of silver were successfully prepared and printed by flexography on Low Temperature Cofired Ceramics (LTCC). Line widths ranging from 100 µm to 600 µm using an engraved anilox with a line resolution of 100 lines/cm were printed. All tests were performed at a printing speed of 25 m.min-1. Topography analyses were done in order to determine line width and line thicknesses of deposited inks. 1 to 3 layers ink were successfully overlaid without lines drying between each passage. To our knowledge, flexography printing on ceramic substrates is not tested, yet. Keywords: Flexography, Viscosity, Ceramic, LTCC, Profilometry.
