ABSTRACT

This study proposed the methodology of Bayesian seismic hazard analysis, including a case study on the site in Taiwan. As many other Bayesian works, this application also used the "observation" to update the "prior information" to obtain the "posterior information." Then according to the posterior information, the seismic hazard or the annual rate of PGA exceedance can be estimated for the study site. In addition to the details of the Bayesian updating, the method was demonstrated with a case study using the data from Taiwan.
