ABSTRACT

The relationship of creativity and leisure is articulated for cultural transformation. Creativity is the ability to rework on experiences and realities. Leisure is about doing something of one’s interest during one’s free time for inner peace and for connecting to the world. Creativity is a component of culture; and leisure is the basis of culture. Culture is flourished when creativity is experienced in leisure, and when leisure engages the time of the minds in imagination. A review and analysis of the dynamics of leisure and creativity in cultural transformation is performed with reference to Singapore’s recent development.
