ABSTRACT

To solve the problem of the measuring method of the rail responses with a high-speed rocket sled running on it, a method of fixing the acceleration sensors under the rail has been proposed and the acceleration responses of a high-speed rocket sled rail have been measured for a high-speed rocket sled running on it. The rocket sled could reach the speed to300m/s during the measurement process.Empirical mode decomposition (EMD) has been used to remove the complex trend terms of the acceleration responses data. The responses data under different speeds have been analyzed and the results show that the vertical acceleration is significantly affected by the rocket-sled speed. Moreover, the energies of the rail always concentrate at the frequency range of 500Hzfor different speeds of the rocket-sled. Compared to the previous work, the method proposed in this paper can measure the responses of high-speed rocket sled rail effectively thus to prevent the rail and rocket-sled from damaging.
