Message from iSMARTi President
First, on behalf of the society, I would like to express a greatest appreciation to
Prof. Fwa, Chairman of this 8th MAIREPAV conference, who led the society to
the higher ground as the 3rd president of the iSMARTi. The International
Society for Maintenance and Rehabilitation of Transport Infrastructures
(iSMARTi) was established in 2004 as a culmination of an internationally
concerted effort among researchers and practitioners actively engaged in in
maintaining and rehabilitating transportation Infrastructures. The main objective
of iSMARTi is to promote the exchange of advanced knowledge and
practical experiences among infrastructure engineering and management professionals
2016 is the beginning of a new era to revitalize the iSMARTi by expanding the role of the society to be regionally recognized by supporting local projects and workshops. Further, the society has a plan to initiate a new technical journal with a focus on maintenance and rehabilitation of transport infrastructures. As the first step of the revitalization process, we established a new website (www.ismarti.org) and a new LinkedIn group (https://www.linkedin.com/groups/8539156).
Thank you for attending the 8th MAIREPAV conference and I would like to invite all of you to become a member of iSMARTi. All you have to do is to fill out a simple membership application form from www.ismarti.org. Your active participation in iSMARTi-sponsored conferences such as MAIREPAV and ICTI series is one of the most essential activities as a member. From now on, you can receive a reduction in your registration fee for future iSMARTi-sponsored conferences and workshops
I am happy to announce next iSMARTi conference series as follows: 2018 ICTI4 (Chair: Wynand Steyn) in Johannesburg, South Africa; 2020 MAIREPAV9 (Chair: Christiane Raab) in Zurich, Switzerland; 2022 ICTI5 (Chair: Carlos Chang) in Lima, Peru. However, if you cannot wait until 2018 to meet again, you can attend the Second International Journal of Pavements and Advanced Construction Materials (IJP & ACM) Conference (Chair: Hosin “David” Lee) at J.W. Marriott Hotel in Seoul, Korea, July 19-21, 2017.
