Welcome Message

The Asian Conference on Solid State Ionics provides a stage for the presentation and discussion of the latest advances in the Asia-Pacific region on solid state ionic materials, devices and related topics. It is the 14th meeting in this series and the first time that the conference returns home to Singapore, the place where it was founded in 1988.

Solid State Ionics is a growing inter-disciplinary branch of science and technology. Scientifically, it explores ionic motion and reactivity in a wide spectrum of functional materials covering inorganic ceramics, glasses, polymers, composites and nanoscale materials. At this conference we will particularly focus on the key role of ionic and mixed conductors in the design and optimisation of high performance devices.

In response to the urgent global need for intelligent solutions in energy conversion and storage ACSSI 2014 will highlight advances in high energy density batteries and fuel cells with high energy and power density as well as improved safety for key applications ranging from integrated solid state thin film devices via storage solutions for electric vehicles to the grid integration of renewable energy sources.

At the same time ACSSI 2014 will showcase progress of Solid State Ionics fruitful in a wider range of devices that rely ionic mobility in the solid state such as electrochromic displays, sensors and photoelectrochemical solar cells.
