Prof. Yuzo Ohnishi received his PhD from University of California, Berkeley, USA in 1973. His research fields include rock mechanics, hydrogeologic engineering, geotechnical measurement etc. His current research focuses on soil and foundation engineering, tunnel engineering, road engineering, and ground engineering etc. Now he is an emeritus professor and the executive vice president of Kyoto University, Japan. He is the vice president of Japan Society of Geotechnical Engineering (JSGE), the president of Japanese Society for Rock Mechanics (ISRM Japan), and also chairmen and Presidents of many committees and Industry-University- Government Association Groups. He is a Board member of Japan Society of Computational Engineering, a Board member of Japan Society of Material Society, a Board member of Japan Society for Geological Exploration and Testing, etc. |
