ABSTRACT
Using the basic framework of GA, a technique for optimum performance of heat pumps with finite-time thermodynamics has been suggested in the present work. The heat pump cycle is optimized for minimum input power for a given heat load. The technique can further be applied effectively to obtain the optimum performance with multiple constraints and even for the conditions when more than one objective function is to be considered.
