ABSTRACT
This paper deals with the combustion characteristics of LPG in the porous medium burner at a very low wattage. The burner was mainly aimed for domestic cooking applications. The combustion behavior was studied using the temperature distribution in the burner and emissions at different wattages and equivalence ratios. The NOX emission levels were reduced drastically but the CO levels were little higher in comparison with the conventional burners. The experimental burner showed uniform temperature inside and also heat flux on the surface.
