ABSTRACT

In the present work, the flame emissivity in hydrocarbon pool fires is determined using IR-camera. The flame emissivity is determined by measuring the flame transmissivity (as the reflectivity is equal to zero), which is used to calculate the emissivity of the object to be measured. A series of pool fire experiments are carried out with four different fuels: diesel, gasoline, hexane and kerosene are studied. Three different pool diametric cylinders: 10, 13 and 20 cm are considered. Diesel pool fire is also studied in 30, 50 and 100 cm diametric cylinders.
