Abstract
In this paper, several examples of recent high-rise building design and construction projects in Korea are introduced. They were mostly designed by Chang Minwoo structural consultants within last five years. This paper includes the structural design information of Jamsil LotteWorld Tower which is going to be mainly introduced, SK Telecom Euljiro Building and Seoul International Finance Center. Jamsil Lotte World Tower is a 123-story (555 m) building having six underground floors which consist of a shopping mall, offices, a hotel and residences. This paper covers the design and construction issues of Jamsil LotteWorld Tower such as lateral load resisting system composed of RC core wall, steel outriggers, RC mega-columns, and steel belt trusses. The experimental and analytical research results on these issues are also introduced.
