Title | Advanced Technology in Water Treatment for Sustainable Environment and Economic Development |
Speaker | Assoc. Prof. Dr. M. Shahidul Islam |
Abstract
With the advent of nanotechnology, water treatment engineering has gained a new momentum. Water treatment is being conducted in almost all manufacturing industries, it can be waste water treatment or inlet water for process industry. The present workshop gives a brief about water treatment and prepares the participants to understand the use of nano-technology in water treatment. The application of this treated water can be in chemical, textile, agricultural, machinery and metallurgical industries. The presented technology is capable of producing USP grade water for food and pharmaceutical industry. The treatment is a membrane based treatment and not a chemical based treatment, hence is particularly suitable for the environment.
