We are very pleased to welcome you to the 2013 International Congress on Ultrasonics. This is the first time that the International Congress on Ultrasonics is being held in Asia and Singapore is indeed very honoured to be the host.
Ultrasonics is such an important branch of acoustics that it is essential to keep abreast of its latest developments. An international congress of this nature is an excellent opportunity for researchers in this field to interact and to network.
Ultrasonics has several subfields, each with tremendous scope of applications. Both academics and scientists from the industrial sectors are well represented in this conference. We are especially glad that a huge percentage of participants are students; which is a very good sign as we highly encourage young scientists to attend and to learn. We hope that in the next few days you will have a very enjoyable stay in Singapore.
