ABSTRACT

Subsurface structure model for estimation of subsidence is important to keep the Kansai international Airport. Many borehole surveys were done to construction around Airport Island. Some geological analyses were carried out to correlate the strata. However, this information is not enough to make a structure model. In 2006, KIX18-1 core obtained the whole core sample to the geological survey until 1350 m. These results make clear the stratigraphy of Osaka Area and well correlated to each area in Osaka Plain. The newly subsurface structure model is constructed using KIX18-1 and other borehole data around Kansai Airport.
