ABSTRACT

ICT-based remediation is proposed for the contaminated groundwater. The proposed system is consists of the ground water sensor to observe the contamination level, the wireless network to transfer the observation results from contaminated site to the support office and the decision support system to analysis the optimum pumping rate. The decision support system can consider both of remediation efficiency and human risk by employing fuzzy inference theory and risk evaluation. The effectiveness of the presented method is assessed in numerical simulations. As results, it was found that applying the proposed algorithm was likely to reduce the pumped quantity and that the algorithm can be used to notify residents of the human health risk. These results mean that the proposed method can contribute for reducing not only the cost and energy but also human risk.
