ABSTRACT

This study investigates the effect of multiple process parameters of the 3D Inkjet printing process on the dimensional precision of lateral printed features. In particular, five process parameters, namely printing resolution, coverage percentage, droplet volume, printing speed as well as UV-power, were examined and precision and integrity of lateral printed features were characterised. In general, a clear trend was observed for each parameter, except UV-power, on the integrity of the printed lateral features. In particular, the increase in printing resolution, coverage percentage and droplet volume show an increase in the integrity of printed features, while printing speed demonstrates an opposite trend. Nevertheless, it was found that UV-power has no significant effect on the integrity nor the dimensional precision of the lateral printed features.
