Research on Fire Risk Assessment System for Converter Stations
Shanghai Fire Research Institute of Ministry of Emergency Management, China.
ABSTRACT
High voltage and ultra-high voltage (UHV) transmission have solved the problem of reverse distribution of energy load in China, and have become a "golden business card" made in China in the energy development history. As important assets of power companies, UHV converter stations have a large volume of equipment, strict safety demands for operation, maintenance, and duties. Based on risk management theories and typical layout characteristics of converter stations, this paper studies and designs a fire risk assessment system for converter stations (FRASCS). It carries out risk assessment, monitoring and warning in consideration of three insecurity aspects, i.e., fire prevention device, people, and management, aiming to effectively improve transmission capacities and intelligence levels of important corridors and key cross sections of power companies.
Keywords: Convertor stations, Fire prevention, Risk assessment.
