With the rapid development of technology and the rise of the digital economy, digital financial transformation has become the key for many organizations to pursue competitive advantage. As a decentralized, immutable, secure and trusted distributed ledger technology, blockchain technology is widely recognized as an essential tool and solution that can promote the digital transformation of finance. This paper overviews the fundamental principles underlying blockchain technology and financial digitalization. Furthermore, it extensively examines blockchain technology's profound impact on the financial sector, followed by a comprehensive analysis of its current applications within the realm of financial digital transformation and the challenges faced. Lastly, this paper delves into the prospects of blockchain technology in the context of financial digital transformation.
