On Rationality of Performance Evaluation in Level-3 Public Hospitals across Different Regions

ABSTRACT
Since the implementation of the performance assessment policy for level-3 public hospitals, hospitals with different characteristics lack a unified understanding of the performance evaluation itself. Given that individual cognitive differences can have a profound impact on their views, attitudes, and behavioral choices, this study examined 826 valid samples and found that hospitals in the eastern region have lower cognition in four dimensions of the rationality of performance evaluation indicators compared to those in the western region. Therefore, it is necessary to adjust the performance assessment system according to local conditions.
