<title>ABSTRACT</title>
<p>The aim of this article is to show a new approach developed to achieve hazard studies. As safety analyses are performed by different types of engineers (reliability Engineer, Environment, health and safety Engineer &#8230;) this new method has been applied in a new software that allows to encompass different safety approaches in order to provide accurate and coherent safety results. Under the same platform, SIL assignment study and SIL achievement study are performed and allows the user to assess if the future Safety Instrumented Function is sufficient to reduce the risk to an acceptable level.<br/>
This method is developed to provide exact early results to answer to the standards applied in several industries.<br/>
A module dedicated to the hazard studies has been developed using a calculation engine which allows to achieve thorough assessments without approximations with the help of BDD (Binary Decision Diagram) calculations.<br/>
After a general description of this new method; an industrial application case will describe the different results.</p>
