ABSTRACT

Crystal plasticity is a mesoscale simulation technique in which material properties at the grain level are the input. The crystal plasticity simulation has a no. of parameters like the no. of active slip systems, the critical resolved shear stress, the hardening parameters etc. By inputting these parameters at the mesoscale, it is possible to generate properties of the material at macroscopic level like the stress v/s strain data. Irradiation of a material causes changes in the properties of the material like increase in the yield strength, decrease in ductility etc. In this work it is tried to find out which of the crystal plasticity parameters must be modified to simulate the irradiated behavior of the material. A parametric study using experimental results from literature has been carried out to obtain this information.
