ABSTRACT

Polyvinylidene fluoride(PVDF) is a commercial piezopolymer which can be used as sensors and actuators due to its direct and indirect effect in nature. PVDF are exhibit large deformations, anisotropic and pseudoelastic in nature. In this paper we are using a transversely isotropic model for finding the mechanical response of the PVDF and validating using the experiments done by the Biaxial test setup. In literature there exist a constitutive relations to transversely isotropic for biological class of materials .In this paper we are used the constitutive relation in the form of strain energy function and have found the corresponding parameters to the PVDF for Biaxial case. The experimental data are available for the bi axial conditions of the PVDF[1].
