ABSTRACT

The present study computes size independent fracture energy of ultra-high performance concrete (UHPC) using boundary effect method. Simplified boundary effect method proposed by Abdalla, & Karihaloo (2003) has been employed to compute size independent fracture energy. To determine the size independent fracture energy three-point bend (TPB) tests have been conducted on UHPC beams (100 × 100 × 500 mm) size having notch depth 5 mm and 50 mm under displacement control loading.
The size independent fracture energy found is 5046 N/m and ligament length 7.9 cm.

Keywords: Ultra high performance concrete, Fracture energy, Size dependent and size independent.
