ABSTRACT

This paper investigates vibration monitoring of RC beam strengthened using the Near Surface Mounted (NSM) technique. Three beams were strengthened by NSM carbon-Fiber Reinforced Polymer (CFRP) rods after damage due to cracking by bending tests. The experimental results include both the static tests and the dynamic tests of strengthened beams along with measurement of natural frequency values for free end beams. For the tested cases modelling by Finite Element Method (FEM) has been done to compare the FEM based results with the experimental results. Keywords: Carbon fibre, Vibration, Mechanical testing.
