ABSTRACT

A semi analytical – numerical investigation is proposed for a plate with hole subjected to biaxial tensile loadings. General formulations involving, equilibrium, strain displacement and constitutive equations are expressed in polar coordinate system for two dimensional (2D) plate with circular hole. The formulation presented is capable of handling non - axisymmetric loadings. For simplicity, numerical results are obtained for the plate under biaxial tensions, for m = 0, where m is the number of harmonics in Fourier series. The behavior of a plate is mathematically formulated as two point boundary value problems governed by a set of linear first order ordinary differential equations (ODEs) which later on is converted into initial value problem.
