ABSTRACT

Modelling and simulation of atmospheric phenomena remains a challenge both scientifically and computationally. Simulation of tropical cyclones in the Indian region, has been done using a combination of the Varsha GCM, a global model of NAL and WRF, a limited area model of NCAR. We show that the coupled model captures detailed spatial structure of the process and that the track errors are comparable with the state of the art available at operational centers.
