<title>ABSTRACT</title>
<p>The advent of computers and soft skills has made modeling and simulation of real world engineering problems more reliable and productive. Commercial finite element modeling packages such as ABAQUS, ANSYS, NASTRAN and etc. are available with powerful graphic engine and modeling capabilities. This simplifies the simulation of structural engineering problems. Modeling of a specific geometry with change in numerous parameters is a repetitive and wearisome job, which makes the work tedious and uneconomical. Considerable amount of time is spent on pre- and post- processing of finite element analysis for simple to complex engineering applications. This has to be optimized and it is an emerging task for researchers. In view of above, it is the time to exploit the scripting languages and other available software interfaces which comes along with the FEM packages. Present paper investigates and presents the applications, advantages of scripting languages and ObjectArx for generating models for FEM analysis. Three case-studies are discussed to highlight the advantages of using the scripting interface. It has been observed that the software interface provides an extremely convenient solution over direct modeling.  </p>
