Conventionally, a single frequency or limited frequencies were used in acoustic imaging. However, a large number of frequencies may provide rich information on surface profiles, structures hidden under surfaces, and material properties of objects. In this paper, acoustic imaging on object surfaces is conducted over wide frequency range with fine frequency step. Visualization of the characteristics of the object regarding surface profile is to be demonstrated. Images are reconstructed at each frequency for one object using acoustic holography, and sonographic image is obtained by image fusion processing. From the results, the surface profiles of the objects corresponding to different frequency responses indicated the frequency dependence. The depth of the holes was identified by its own resonance frequency, and the surface profiles of the holes were seen by sonographic image.
