Description

This book contains the eighty nine papers, including six keynote papers, presented at the 7th International Conference on Steel and Aluminium Structures (ICSAS 2011) held on 13–15 July 2011 in Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia. The previous six conferences were held in Oxford, UK in 2007; Sydney, Australia in 2003; Epoo, Finland in 1999; Istanbul, Turkey in 1995; Singapore in 1991; and Cardiff, UK in 1987.

It is hoped that this edited book remains the dissemination and discovery of recent advances in steel and aluminium structures for researchers and designers. The conference brings together international experts from six continents and attracted contributions that came from 20 countries across the world, covering a wide spectrum of topics including the current state of the art, and future directions of research in steel, composite and aluminium structures as well as anticipating the sustainable development of these areas. The six keynote papers cover areas of great interest and encompass the conference themes. They include contributions on current research in steel design, composite design and stainless steel.
