ABSTRACT
The case of columns with linear varying web and flanges with uniformly distributed axial force is studied. It is the purpose of this working paper to: (i) discuss the current available methodologies for stability verification of non-uniform members; (ii) present the theoretical background for non-uniform columns; (iii) carry out FEM numerical simulations to analyze the several approaches.
