ABSTRACT

The buckling loads of pallet rack upright frames are determined in Europe using experimental procedures defined in EN15512 whereas in the US they are determined using the Rack Manufacturer’s Code (RMI code) which is based on formulae presented by Timoshenko. These two methods lead to buckling loads which differ greatly and this paper presents revised design procedures.
