ABSTRACT
Regular solutions for spatial frameworks are deduced from systemization and simplification
of load bearing principles. Modern Hard- and Software allow calculation of different solutions
in short time and probabilistic optimization methods allow effective search in solution space
that accrued. By this irregular spatial structures can be generated, that show complex load
bearing behavior. It is shown, that these have the ability to outperform regular ones in terms of
weight, load bearing capacity and efficiency. In particularwhen dealingwith irregular boundary
conditions, performance of such complex structures achieves a level at which these are in terms
of the expense for materialization on a competitive base with regular ones. To do so, a powerful
tool for the design of multifarious spatial framework structures is introduced and the capacity
is shown by several examples.
