ABSTRACT
The paper describes an approach aimed to define a taxonomy and a color coding system to be
used by the Health & Safety Co-ordinators and Managers in connection with the 4D CAD BIMBasedModeling.
The 4D CAD BIM-BasedModeling could be quite an effectivemethod in order
to monitor and control the spatial aspects of the progressing works in order to be able to timely
detect non compliances, discrepancies and deviations and to promptly suggest remedial actions.
Indeed, 4D BIM-Based Models allows to find out conflicts or interferences between workspaces
and to avoid congestions on the construction sites. Moreover, the Health & Safety measures can
be inserted into the Time Schedule: construction sequences might be easily visualized during
the Design Stage and monitored or inspected by using advanced Augmented-Reality or Laser
Scanning-Based technologies during the Construction Phase.
Keywords: Health & safety management, 4D BIM-Based health & safety planning.
