ABSTRACT

The recovery of carbon dioxide (CO2) is one of the most important topics to improve global environments. The exhausted gases from power generator which use petroleum or coal, and incinerator include more than 10% of CO2. This CO2 is considered to be an excellent source for the multiplication of plants disposal on CO2 and water for photosynthesis. As concentration of CO2 increased, the reaction rate gains also increased. The species of green algae useful for recovery of CO2 have been studied and a novel method, by which easy handling and high efficiency are expected in an industrial scale were found by Kochi university. The proper condition to better growth of the algae under high concentration of CO2 in a continuous flow water bath is under development in Ryukyu university because the contact of solid (green algae) and gas (CO2) is not easy to manage on an industrial scale. The whole system, the target and the technology will be presented.
