ABSTRACT
This paper describes the application of the concept of paradigms to the development of a continuing education seminar. Specifically, the paradigm of a profession is analyzed. In the process, information is systematically organized and viewed as a map of knowledge. By connecting the ideas and information in the map, new ideas are generated. I applied the technique to designing continuing education seminars for engineering teachers. The seminars deal with formulating teaching strategies, adapting established techniques, and developing innovations in teaching engineering courses. An example of such a seminar is presented.
