Building facade inspection is a complicated and time-consuming task that involves the collection of information on the structures health. Some of this information refers to the length and angle of cracks that may occur on the front wall and the danger that they posed. To simplify this type of activity the present paper describes a method based on an image processing algorithm that is able to gather and analyze the information derived from facade inspection, in order to provide an objective crack data that will be used in evaluating the safety of the building. For this purpose a graphical user interface was developed in MATLAB which allows selecting and uploading the images of the investigated crack, stitching the images together and cropping a region of interest to be processed.
